Hi all,
I did a restore and after adding a folder with lots of subdirectories
it said 5,128 files selected to be restored.
Then I counted the files and directories with find and wc -l. Result:
5098. Hence 30 missing. How can that be?
Ubuntu 12.04, Bacula 5.2.5, mysql-server 5.5.43. Volumes are

I have FreeBSD 8.0 with bacula 3.0.2 as a backup server. The only thing
which works so far is the webmin module. That's fine and useful but the
reporting is a bit too simple.
Thus I tried bweb and bacula-web and had a look at webacula.

backup mode error. So far so good (or bad).
Last night I had a job which waited for ever for an appendable volume.
I deleted an old error-volume (from the db and filesystem), recreated it

I have two jobs which are quite similar. Both windows clients. I did
job, schedule and file set definitions with webmin and double checked
bacula-dir.conf. Everything looks reasonable but when I start job1
manually then it uses the name and file set of job2.

I'll do backups to disk on a raid6 (28 TB) which is attached via
fibre channel.
There will be 50 clients with data ranging from a few MB to 100 GB or
more for a full backup, tiny files from mail servers as well as large
database ones.
Speed and reliability are both important (as always).

I had the following problem with 3.0.2 as well as now with 5.0.2 (runs
on ubuntu 10.10). When I change the pool and accordingly the storage
device of a client, then the job won't run because the scheduled volume
is marked *unknown*. If I start the job manually everything is fine.

I use webmin, bweb and once in a while bat. And, of course, the
bconsole itself. I've learned that depending on which information I
seek and what needs to be done, the proper tool has to be chosen.
webacula is quite disappointing though. It does not really offer more
than bweb but the install

11 to 12 MBytes/second due to the 100Mbit connection.
For testing purpose I connected one client via crosslink (1Gbit on

I wonder what may be the best way to install bacula on xenserver 5.6.0
(dom0). The system is based on centos but rpms are only available
for suse or fedora, aren't they?
Maybe some-one had the same issue and can point me in the right
direction? Otherwise I see a compilation...

bacula does a ClientRunBeforeJob which is a mysqldump script. The
script returns an error (problem with Lock Tables) but the email has
the subject "Bacula: Backup OK of myclient-fd Incremental".
Even webacula shows an OK.

you're right, it's directing in a bash script direction. So, coming
back to bacula, I'd better like to find a way of communication between
a ClientRunBeforeJob error and the Termination/mail-subject. With such
a solution tinkering around with every script would be obsolete.

I do backups with data encryption. Backups as well as restores on the
clients work without problems.
Now I want to be able to do restores with the server (or another one)
only. The doc says that adding the following line would be enough.
