while all the other files including bacula-7.4.4.tar.gz.sig had
modification dates of 2016-09-21. Would this date difference be causing
the bad signature result. If yes, can someone update the signature file
on sourceforge. If no, what could be wrong.

ldn't find any other list that looked more correct as this doesn't
seem to fit in the Bugs category.

Hi Phil,
Thanks for your help. My files have been like that since I started using
Bacula with a File Storage
rate namings as in the manual in chapter 25 and this has now fixed
my problem. It has run for two nights, with all the File Daemons
operational and no issues have occurred.

As you have not specified -enable-client-only then the default is to
build both the SD and Director and then you need a database. So you need
to disable the Director with the config option -disable-build-dir.
This should hopefully solve your problem.

Whoops, just seen that you already had that command in your config file
so then I don't understand why it still expected you to have a database
selected. Will think further on it.

Only thing I can think of is that when you specify --disable-build-dird
then you maybe have to explicitly specify --enable-build-stored though
not really sure that is an actual requirement because it is supposed to
be the default.

So this looks like you have to have one of the databases even if it is
only the SD.
