Hello Randy,
I know very few situations where we can have "optimal settings" as a rule.
IMHO, in your case, there is a lot of variables that should be considered
when deciding about which "Max Bandwith" value should be used. Such as:
amount of RAM, amount of CPU, how many KVM VMs, how many traffic
My original question, is anyone using Max Bandwidth successfully and
what are YOUR optimal settings?
This is in the context of having multiple KVM VMs backing up from a
node. If you are not using Max Bandwidth
then this question is not for you. Thanks!
As for looking into ethtool, subtracting the
value for Maximum Bandwidth. It will all
depend of the network demand of your applications.

Hello Randy,
I was talking about your backup windows (the period of time you have to run
your backups). Since you´re having problems with your servers running out
of resources (basically bandwidth), I suppose you´re running backups during
intensive use of your servers.
If this is the problem, you
There are hosts with 100Mb and 1000Mb adapters in the mix.

Hello Randy,
Could you please give us more information, such as your backup window per
client? It will depende a lot of your backup window and the free bandwidth
you need for other applications.
Best regards,
Ana
