I got it to work. First I ran kudsu, which installed the scsi device. Then
I rebooted the box.
Now when I ran cat /proc/scsi/scsi I got the following.
Attached devices:
Host: scsi0 Channel: 00 Id: 06 Lun: 00
Vendor: PE/PVModel: 1x6 SCSI BP Rev: 1.0
Type: Processor

No, it's just a device that sits on the SCSI chain and listens for commands
from programs such as mtx. Here, it shows up like this in /proc/scsi/scsi
Host: scsi1 Channel: 01 Id
