Hi,
Thanks for all the feedback.
Another question : if I upgrade some clients before the second 2.4
server, how well should they work with this old server ?

Before deciding for the hardware, I'd like to know how you cope with
the backup of this type of appliance.
Especially, is there a way to backup the acls ?

they have put together a mediawiki + bugzilla + forums solution quite

rver take over a primary server's IP address when the
primary goes down.
I guess this mecanism of IP address takeover would not work in the case of 2
bacula servers residing in different locations, on different networks. Or am
I wrong ?
Regards,
How about using mirroring using raid1 ? (you'd probably have to buy a
thirs 200gb).
This way, you achieve data synchronisation easily, always have a local
copy from which to run restores and you cycle between 2 disks to keep
an offsite copy.

server is maybe a bit slow (P4, 2.5Ghz, 1.5Gb RAM) but it deals
quite well with its work apart from this.
Is this something that can be avoided by some administrative jobs ?

Hello,
I'd like to upgrade my installation of bacula but I have many clients.
But is a 2.0 bacula director compatible with 1.38 file daemons ?
Thanks in advance,

this. The most important steps I see consist of
running the scripts to get disk infos and keeping that aside for

I have also a file based backup and for each job, I configure a dedicated device (this does not hinder me from using the same directory).Maybe it could be smarter but I had the same problem and found this solution.
