Hello Stravros,
If you run into erro with a "status client" command from bconsole, there
are a few misconfigurations or issues that can lead into this situation.
One of them can be a network issue (firewalls, etc.). Have you checked if
you are able to telnet between director and client? You shoul
Hello, I needed to retrieve the jobname from my purged volumes (i store
one job per volume) and found out about `bls -jv` which outputs the
jobname among other things. This script works for me good enough to
retrieve the jobname, by applying a regex on bls output: from subprocess import PIPE,
I recovered by doing a umount, then using mtx to load another appendable blank
tape, then told bacula to mount the tape, and it worked
To perm fix it, I did do an update to mark the almost full tape as full

I am trying to set up a vagrant machine with the server components of
bacula. And I want to use them in order to backup a client which is in a
remote server.
Both the machine and the remote server are ubuntu.
So I followed this guide:
https://www.digitalocean.com/community/tutorials/how-to-install-
I forgot to say that Bacula client on my Zimbra server (which is
currently being backed up) is using most of the CPU. According to top
command, bacula-fd is reporting between 10%, 30% or even 80% of CPU
usage. Meanwhile, swap usage is currently low (~ 3%)

Hello guys:
I'd like you to share some thoughs about my scenario and performance.
Here's what I have:

Network: virtio

Hello,
You most likely have a difference between what the catalog thinks is in
the changer and what is actually in the changer. After moving tapes out
and new ones in did you remember to manual do an:
update slots
(actually you probably want "update slots barcodes") ? That command is
ess
I am running Bacula 7.4 with a 24 tape loader (HP/SUN) and LT)4 (800g tape). I
use a single pool named "LT04Pool"
It works fine. Trying to do a 20TB backup in 4 jobs, so more tapes than slots
The system wrote 24 tapes and completed with the last tape #24 at 804G used, ie
99+% full

Hello Patti,
Yes, the restart command is in its "infancy" -- that is it does
not currently (on purpose) handle all cases -- each failure must
have explicit code to permit a partial backup to be used. This is
to ensure as much integrity of the final backup
