This just started happening recently where I can't connect to my bacula
director using the bconsole command. It just kinda kicks you out like this:
[root@ops:/etc/bacula] #bconsole

If I look at the bacula-dir service
Mr. Romer: did you do the "update - volume parameters - all volumes from all
pools" (bconsole) after having your Pool configuration changed? This is needed
in order to apply changes to already created volumes.
BTW: use volume once and max volumes jobs=1 are redundant. Only using Max vol
jobs is

Yes.
Once you've done the file selection to restore, you will see three options:
yes/mod/no. If you select "mod" you can use the 9th option to change restore
path.

For a Tape the recomended Job number is only one, because if you run more than
one you're interleaving data between jobs and restore takes longer (and i think
that database size is bigger too). You can try to use Spooling, but i can't
help you with that because i'm starting to configure spooling
