For a Tape the recomended Job number is only one, because if you run more than one you're interleaving data between jobs and restore takes longer (and i think that database size is bigger too). You can try to use Spooling, but i can't help you with that because i'm starting to configure spooling in my new backup server and i'm not sure how it works.
