You can either use bextract or bscan (check the manual to see what they do), or
restore using a bootstrap file if you've been keeping them (a good idea).

I have try to use an hp autochanger to do my backups but it does not seems
to be working correctly. It is like one server locks the tape and won't let
me do any other action. It is like the server lock the tape device

Have you considered using a snapshot-able filesystem, like zfs or btrfs?
