Hello James,
Thanks for your answer.
Yes, exchange spanish version has "ó" char (grupo
de almacenamiento de recuperaciòn) and the mailbox db has "Almacén del
buzón" too.
Using bweb or bat i can see strange chars during folder selection. I see the
"?" char instead of "ó" and "é" characters (but
Hello,
We would like to use Bacula for archiving data. A problem that we're trying
to solve is how to prevent Bacula from recycling a volume in case a
migration job fails. The scenario we're concerned about is as follows:
Auto-recycling is on
1. TestBackupJob runs
2. TestArchiveJob runs and fails

Before enabling encryption we were getting 118 - 120 MBs throughput to our
LTO-4 tape drive.
With encryption turned on we get 38-39MBs throughput. bacula process is at 98 -
100 % cpu while running.
I tried cutting the key size down to 472bits from 2048bits but it didn't make a
difference.

Hey Guys,
I'm using bacula 2.4.4-1 (from Debian Lenny).
I'm using a removeable hard-drive based storage using the 'vchanger' C++
program to simulate an autochanger. Each of our hard drives therefore
simulates a 'cartridge' with 10 'volumes'.
What I want to be able to do is change the drives o

Yes, I know I can create a separate device for every job I want to run

Hi,
Yes, that's exactly the feature i need. I'll put it in as a feature
request, and I think i'll do some manual purges maybe monthly for anything
over it's retention cycle period.
Thank you.

Hello!
I need to run a secondary postgresql database instance for Bacula on a
different port, e.g., 5433, because the primary database needs to run separated.
How do I tell Bacula to use the database connection on the different port?
I read about the way with libdbi, but it does not compile pro

Hi,
I must be missing something here. Every day we take out the tape that was
used the night before, and put it in a safe (in case the comms rooms is ever
inaccessible). We then look for a tape from the scratch pool to put into
the empty slot. This is fine, except that the scratch pool is not bei

Hi,
Thanks for replying, I was afraid you might say something like that!
It does seem strange that such scripting would be necessary, as anyone with
an autoloader must have a similar dilemma.
I guess it's one for the wishlist.
Anyway, if anyone has already written such a script that i can adapt/us
Hello Graham

finally i have got to do a full restore naming the restore folder "Recovery
storage group". In a exchange spanish version the folder name would be
"grupo de almacenamiento de recuperacion". I think that "recovery storage
group" name is hardcoded in the exchange plugin and, for that reason, in a

Dear bacula users,
my backup schedule is as follows:
Monthly Fulls, Weekly Differentials, Daily Incrementals. Backups go to file
storage and are migrated to tape after 5 weeks. File volume retention is 6
weeks, Tape volume retention is 12 month, job retention varies between 3 and 9
month.

At the moment, one of my client machines is switched off, deliberately.
Bacula tries to back it up overnight, but fails because it cannot connect to
the client.
Before doing this, it prunes and purges successfully, according to the
retention rules.
My thought is that if this machine is left of
Hi,
I got no response to my last question below. Can anyone advise me on this,
or do i need to provide more info? I want my tapes to start going back
into the Scratch pool automatically, but they are not. Thank you.

Hi there,
I wanted to run this pass more knowledgeable minds before trying on a test
environment.
I need to write duplicate tapes for onsite and offsite storage. The data
will not expire - they are basically archives.
I plan to the backup the data from the network source to a local disk,
