Hi,
Debian Server: bacula-server-2.4.4-1
Fedora Client: bacula-client-3.0.3-5
When I check the client's status from the server the following message
is displayed:
Fatal error: File daemon at "192.168.0.55:9102" rejected Hello command
I believe this is because the server and the client software
Take a directory, dump it to tape, and it will live forever (roughly 5-10
years) on tape. And the copy on disk will be deleted. But if needed, we could
pull the copy back from tape. We could possibly write 2 copies to tape for
redundancy.
I already use bacula to protect over 100TB of spinnin

What do you consider archiving to be? As opposed to backup?
In short, what are your expectations?
Is there any support in Bacula for doing archiving? I have some data i want to
offload to tape, and i am wondering if bacula can help.

This is a bit older, but I wanted to post the resolution for it in case
somebody else finds this post through Google.
It turned out that the culprit was the FirstWritten attribute. To fix it,
simply update FirstWritten to some value other than -00-00 (but in the
distant past):

Hi,
I believe it is hard-coded in the source.
I think I asked this question to this mailing list once before, no good answer.

Hello,
Does anyone know how to descend into a directory which has a space in

Thank you for the help,

Hi,
I just mailed about this problem a couple of days ago.
It's probably due to a configuration problem with mail server, causing a
deadlock in the director when it tries to send an e-mail.
It seems this will be corrected in the next release. Possible workaround

Hello,
I'm experiencing the same phenomenon as this guy:

Basically: after upgrading from Bacula 2.2.8 to 3.0.3, only one job runs.
Every job thereafter is queued with a "is waiting execution" message, with no

In the schedule resource the manual says:

So why didn't my backup run in week 53?
(Still a lot of time to fix no week 53 until 2016.)

Hello List,
I came across an issue building the bacula-gui 3.0.3 rpms for el5: the
bacula-gui.spec.in file in bacula-gui-3.0.3.tar.gz contains references
to the bacula-docs tarball:
58:Source2: bacula-docs-%{version}.tar.gz
169:%setup -c %{name} -T -D -b 2
276:cp -p bacula-docs-%{version}/manual/
Bacula follows the ISO 8601 specification. The first week of years is
the first week that has the first Thursday in this year. The first
weekend was not in the first week of the year.
