Oh whoops I overlooked that, that was dumb. So is there a way to make Bacula
just delete the volume after the retention period has expired instead of
reusing it? 'Recycle=No' just leaves the file there doesnt it? then I get into
the same situation.

I'm running Bacula 2.03 on a Fedora 5 x86 system. For test purposes I only have
one client configured and the /etc directory being backed up to a SATA hard
drive in the system. I have set the backups to run every 10min and I set max
volumes to 24, so that should be 6 hours of backup and then it

Hey,
Sorry for not reading the archive first, but the change which has been
suggested is still not working for me, and I am not sure why. Here is my
file set:

Ignore FileSet Changes = "yes"

What do you see when it gets upgraded anyway?

I use the Blastwave packages, and as a matter of fact recently moved
from using my own packages to using Blastwave's packages (mainly for
ease of updates). Works great.
A note on your archive device... at the very least, you need 0n. Bacula
doesn't li
BackupPC does that. I'd like to see this in bacula because there
is a lack of security on backuppc when restoring files. ACLs aren't
restored on backuppc. so you can restore elsewhere a file you have no
right to see.

mtx is available from blastwave.

I too am testing bacula on Solaris using the blastwave packages. I don't
have an autochanger though, just a single tape dlt drive.
One thing I had to do is specify the tape backup device in the
bacula-sd.conf as follows:
Hi there,
I have been using Bacula happily now for several years, and have just
now run across a restore problem that I hadn't seen before, and was
wondering if anyone can suggest an alternate method or workaround for
me.
I am attempting to restore 3 little files from a particular backup j

Firstly, allow me to applaud the Bacula team - what a great contribution

My question is this, how can I disable the automatic upgrade to full
backup for my differential backup job? I'm using Bacula to back up my

Sorry for taking so long to report back.

storage daemon and director are still running the official release version,
not beta)
I enabled VSS on the vista client definition and commented out the

Hello everyone,
could you please help me with writing schedule for this task...
I want to have two parallel backup jobs. One will do backup on odd days
and the other on even. Full backup every week, but divided into two jobs

In my bacula-dir.conf I accidentally commented the "Where" statement

Trying to restore some needed files the director blew up. Since I
was not aware of the above change I tested the restore with versions
2.1.18 , 2.1.20, 2.1.22 with the same result.

At the begining of my study of the different backup solutions, I found
that BackupPC is supposed to do it (to backup only one time a file that
is present on many machines)
