Mr. Goldim,
Keep it simple.
If you need to separate machines for access control, consider using
ACL directives in the bacula-dir.conf file and create a catalog for
each client.
I'll leave it to you to read through the documentation on how to do
this.

I don't know if this is common knowledge or not, but this may help
someone. In order to get bacula-web running on Fedora Core 4, and I

The files which I had backed up were 8 image file named

I'd like to try out the bacula-web interface. I installed my bacula by
rebuilding the src rpms. I see bacula-web documentation files but I
don't see the php web pages themselves. Is this a separate download or
am I missing it? Or maybe I was supposed to enable something in the
configure?
I am evaluating Bacula and would like to know if the enable-gnome option
is required. Does the GNOME interface make this package easier to
configure and maintain? The problem I have is my Fedora Core 3 Server
was installed without X Windows and I haven't found any sort of docs
that explains how to
Hi,
after some troubles I got this changer working.
The most of the trouble was to figure that this model doesnt have a SCSI
interface to the changer. So I had to write a custom mtx-changer script
using netcat to have the tapes changed via the telnet interface of the
device.
The script is quite r

Have there been volumes in that pool before you added the 'Volume Use
Duration' parameter? If so, you have to update th

Hi Everyone,
I've got a Volume Use Duration of 23h on my pool, but for some reason
bacula (1.38.5) marks it as used after only a couple of hours after it
starts backing up.
Any ideas?
Cheers,

Thanks for your help Wolfgang but as it seems, the solution was much simpler.
I did the tests with our "backup" tape-library and they worked fine.
Ok, tape drive broken, I changed them and it works.
I dunno why but I threw a cleaning tape into the new library just to clean the
head before the we

The Linux SCSI tape device driver has default settings which cause a
lot of problems whenever you try to run multivolume backups. For
details please see "man 4 st".
Most critical
Check if you have a "Maximum Volume Bytes" directive in your DIR.conf file or a
"Maximum Volume Size" directive in your SD.conf file limiting the amount of
data written to tape.

Hi!
I've got a problem with Pools and backing up to a file resource...
The trouble is that although i tell it to backup using the NAS-Files pool, it
stubbornly inists to backup to the Default pool to which that SD has no
access. (The NAS is just a big HDD)
This is the STAT from the SD:

Dear All,
I hope someone can shed some light on this.
I have a Seagate DDS-4 drive (Osprey I think). I have TDK
catridges that claim to be 20/40GB (I guess the upper figure is with hardware
data compression). However, in use with Bacula and also when used with “fill”
on btape, I get
