have a massive problem with bacula-server. I had a well working system
under FreeBSD 5.4 but since I upgraded to last 1.38.2_1
i'm unable to run backup jobs from the clients. It works fine if I run a
backup jobs on the BSD box the dir and sd run.

Backing up Windows Server 2003 isn't a problem. I backup a number of Windows
Server 2003 machines daily.
Bacula doesn't have a plugin that allows a "live" backup of SQL server. It
can back it up but you would need to use a run before script to create a
snapshot of your database and then

I do this by using the maintenance wizard to back up the
DB to another drive

I have configured bacula that tapes are automatically recycled. Bacula
should take the tape that is currently in the drive, if possible. Most
of the time it works, but sometimes bacula means that the tape is still
protected. In the logfile it says:
