Hello everyone!
I just discovered that my Bacula-installation seems to delete all the
database-entrys for files of jobs other than the last one started.
In other words: I do a tape-backup once a month. The last backup job has
job-id 22. When I try to restore this job, everything works fine, I a

Hello,
I'll need a little more basic information before I can make any comments:
1. What version of Bacula are you using?
2. What is the full output from the restore command that you used?
3. What is the full output from the restore job that ran.
Did you try specifying:
restore storage="RockFi

Hi,
I was planning to use Bacula to backup the portable computers in the
network. Every time they are in the office, they get backed up. What
bothers me is the security implications of this service. The document:

Please see the recent bug reports. Patches were supplied and they are now
part of 1.38.1 to be released this weekend.

If the crash is because of changing schedules and reloading, or reloading and
scheduled jobs start, then it crashes, there is no need to debug it. I
understand what the problem is for bug #375, but it is a non-trivial fix that
is going to have to wait a bit ...

Sounds like a great plan. It's probably too late but I suggest changing
the acronym from RFC to something else to avoid conflict and possible
confusion with RFC = "Request for Comment", used extensively to document
Internet and other standards.

I'm currently migrating from 1.36.3 to 1.38.0, but I have a big problem with
the restore command in bconsole : it does not want to change
the Storage device configured in the Restore Job (in fact it used
the bad underlying Device)

Hi,
I'm running Bacula (package version 1.36.2-2sarge1) on Debian Sarge with
a 2.4.27-2-686 kernel and a SCSI DDS4 tape.
Bacula is running as user "bacula", which is member of the "tape" group.
I get the following logs in the kernel messages (dmesg's output):

If I have understod it right will the volume be purged/deleted before
the retention time for files, jobs and volume stored on the specific
volume. And to restore files you need both the volume (where the files
are stored) and the job info (stored in the database, not on the
volume).
My problem is
