We are setting up Bacula as a second level of backups and I have a quick
questions about pools and defining storage.
As mentioned this is a second level backup so it will be all disk backup.
What I can't seem to find is how to limit the size of a pool. Is there a
way to set a size limit on a

Hi Everyone,
I'm kinda new at using Bacula. I'm maintaining an existing system right

I'm currently looking at trying to cancel a scheduled job. Basically the
job has been schedule to run later today and it doesn't have a JobId

Hello,
I am having difficulty getting one of my job definitions to work right.
I have a setup of daily/weekly jobs which use the same job resource, to
run at most 10 jobs at once. This is working most of the time. I
cut-n-paste that job definition into one called archive, and that runs
monthl

Hej,
I'd like to build a schedule for the following scenario:
- 3 tapes for a full backup once a week (WEEKLY), say friday evening
- 2 tapes each for incremental backups of one week (DAILY); e.g. monday
to thursday evening
The DAILYs should be changed every week, not regarding the number jobs

This is the name the DIR uses for this device.

I'm still stuck on this. Any attempts to eject the tape with 'mt' or
'camcontrol' result in 'device busy' errors. Thus I assume that
bextract has a hold of the device and won't let the tape eject. Is
there some config or command line option that I need to add so bextract
will eject the tape

Hi,
is it normal, that with autolabeling function (option "Label Format"), a
database entry for the tape is created even if no tape has been labeled
physically?
We always use new tapes for our monthly backups for archival purposes. I
set up an appropriate monthly pool. Last night the monthly back

I've read the definition from the Bacula manual for theĀ differential
backups and incremental backups. If I could undertand, when we do a
full backup and after that a incremental backup and so a differencial
backup, this last one permit us to do not need the incremental backup
to restore the la

Oh, it certainly wasn't MEANT personally.
Hrm. Perhaps we could do a better job by rewriting that section altogether.
OK, this is going to be sizeable. Now, we have this:

There always seem to be complaints about the manual, probably for the reason

Hi,Fine. Well, basically you can run all bacula daemons in the foreground - just add the -f switch, and (usually) you set -v and -d. That can be done with DIR, FD and SD alike.Ah... just like I tried with FD.There's no need to go through ./configure && make && make install for every configuration c
I do something sort of like this, but I actually have a tape set for

of 25 days, so even in February the 1st week tape will be ready to be
recycled at the beginning of the next month. If there is no 4th Sunday,
