Title: AW: [Bacula-users] bacula-dir hangs
hello tim,
my setup is: bacula server (dir, fd and sd) on a redhat ES 3 update 4 (kernel 2.4.x),
mysql 4.1.10 and backups are only to disk. system is a dual pentium III.
at this time there are only some (8) test-jobs running, but t
Hi,
maybe it's just a greenhorn question (hopefully ;-)
I've set up a bacula server on Fedora Core 3 and am trying to do a
restore to a windows host.
I'm using: (compiled from SRPM)
bacula-gconsole-1.36.2-2
bacula-debuginfo-1.36.2-2
bacula-mysql-1.36.2-2
bacula-updatedb-1.36.2-2
bacula-rescue-1.3
I compiled Bacula 1.36.2 on a sparc-sun-solaris2.8 -- solaris 5.8, it
finished successfully. I built it with ./configure --enable-client-only
When I start bacula-fd it gets killed immediately as follows:
server:# /sbin/bacula-fd $2 -c /etc/bacula/bacula-fd.conf
ld.so.1: /sbin/bacula-fd: fatal: l
Hi folks,
I'm about to unsubscribe from the list. But should you see anything
that you think I should be involved in, don't hesitate to CC: me. My
plate is overfull and something has to go.
Cheers.

Hello Christian,
the problem is not fixed yet and i don't know where the problem exactly is.
We're doing two backup runs each night. The first run backs up all clients to
a tape drive and the second one puts all the data to a file storage and I
suppose there is the problem.
My last idea was, t

Hello,
now am reading manual and i have one question about @.
Is it possible to use @ in the following way:
Name = "news"
Include {

exclude = yes
I recently posted with a similar scenario. I only received one response
but that response was basically "Don't use Bacula. Use tar." That wasn't
a viable option in my case and I suspect it won't be in yours.

Hi Hans-Ulrich,
Please have a look here:

There's a patch that fixes that speed problem. Please test it and report
back!
Thanks

I encountered a very slow restore using the present version bacula 1.6.2
(database is postgres).
I needed a few files from one set, so I chose the option 5 (select the
most recent backup for a client)
bconsole told me ( because I had a full dump and an incremental dump )
