Hi,
maybe it's just a greenhorn question (hopefully ;-)
I've set up a bacula server on Fedora Core 3 and am trying to do a restore to a windows host.
I'm using: (compiled from SRPM) bacula-gconsole-1.36.2-2 bacula-debuginfo-1.36.2-2 bacula-mysql-1.36.2-2 bacula-updatedb-1.36.2-2 bacula-rescue-1.36.2-2
The used mysql server looks fine, all records where written to the tables during backup.
Backup itself worked fine too, only stumbling on the usual windows suspects: pagefile & Co, but when i try to restore a file i am stuck.
What i tried is this:
1) I tried to find out if my testfile is really present in one of the existing jobs, so i did a "2: List Jobs where a given File is saved":
restore
First you select one or more JobIds that contain files to be restored. You will be presented several methods of specifying the JobIds. Then you will be allowed to select which files from those JobIds are to be restored.
To select the JobIds, you have the following choices:
1: List last 20 Jobs run
2: List Jobs where a given File is saved
3: Enter list of comma separated JobIds to select
4: Enter SQL list command
5: Select the most recent backup for a client
6: Select backup for a client before a specified time
7: Enter a list of files to restore
8: Enter a list of files to restore before a specified time
9: Cancel
Select item: (1-9): 2
Enter Filename (no path):winbacula-1.36.2.exe
+-------+--------------+-------------------------------+---------------------+---------+----------+----------------+
| JobId | Client | Name | StartTime | JobType | JobFiles | JobBytes |
+-------+--------------+-------------------------------+---------------------+---------+----------+----------------+
| 1 | galadriel-fd | D:\/temp/winbacula-1.36.2.exe | 2005-03-29 22:49:12 | B | 169767 | 48276225626 |
+-------+--------------+-------------------------------+---------------------+---------+----------+----------------+
2 ) Obviously Job number 1 seems to hold my file. So i tried to actually enter the filename using "7: Enter a list of files to restore":
To select the JobIds, you have the following choices: 1: List last 20 Jobs run 2: List Jobs where a given File is saved 3: Enter list of comma separated JobIds to select 4: Enter SQL list command 5: Select the most recent backup for a client 6: Select backup for a client before a specified time 7: Enter a list of files to restore 8: Enter a list of files to restore before a specified time 9: Cancel Select item: (1-9): 7 Defined Clients: 1: galadriel-fd 2: mithril-fd Select the Client (1-2): 1 Enter file names with paths, or < to enter a filename containg a list of file names with paths, and terminate them with a blank line. Enter full filename: winbacula-1.36.2.exe No database record found for: winbacula-1.36.2.exe Enter full filename: D:\/temp/winbacula-1.36.2.exe No database record found for: D:\/temp/winbacula-1.36.2.exe Enter full filename: No files selected to be restored.
I've also tried some other variations on the name, masking the second backslash, not masking the backslashs at all etc. with no success so far.
Any ideas anyone ? I'd very much appreciate it ;-)
