I agree that deliberately putting a window across multiple monitors and
then switching workplaces is probably pretty rare, but it has to do
*something*, and it's difficult to come up with something that isn't
intrusive. You see the same problem in the UDS demo video at the end,
where the tester ex
that's the way i understood it to. those are some good points but why
would anyone put a window across multiple monitors if they aren't planning
on using those monitors for that window without a lot of interruptions?
i personally wouldn't have a problem with having a monitor's worth of my

As an inkscape developer who is bug testing all the time, I have to say
that as frustrating it is for me, I can't imagine how frustrating it is for
users trying to be productive (not that bug testing isn't being
productive). I also hit this issue in GIMP and a handful of other app
If I'm understanding correctly, GianZap's alternative arrangement sounds
similar to the way workspaces behave in XMonad: Every monitor shows one
workspace, but they share the same set of workspaces. If you have
workspace 1 on monitor 1, and open some windows, and then switch monitor 2

i don't use multiple monitors yet but it's unlikely that i'll get more than
2, 3 at most. still, i think the suggestion made by GianZap sounds better

the video setup seemed to have 24 workspaces by default due to the number
of monitors. if someone told me they

I think that I noticed the launcher hint which apps are available on
which monitor/workspace so I don't think apps will get lost. Finding
out where a particular app is will be just a click away AFAIK.

Hello everybody.
I have watched the nice video [1] on the planned multi-monitor support for
Unity 5.x. I think it is *wonderful*, and would love to use it with my two
monitors.
Still, I have a small concern and a brief proposal :)
If I understand it correctly, the planned behavior as shown at UDS-
