compiler change

Hi, I am using automake and autoconf to prepare a software library. One of my subdirectories will be using the mpiCC compiler, but the rest of the subdirectories will be using gcc. How do I acheive this using Automake? Thanks in advance for any help you can give. Cheers, David Churches.
