The problem is I don't have a USB-serial cable. I want to somehow edit the
/etc/boot.conf before inserting it in Lime2.
ufs partition is write-protected and I can mount it read-only.
Is there a way to change the configuration to hdmi somehow?

Thanks a lot mark, that did it. I get to the installation prompt. Now facing
the trivial problem of serving the files bsd, base68 and so on.

I'll try it out. I was assuming that since cubieboard also has A20, things
would work straightaway. Are device trees same across GNU/Linux and OpenBSD?

Well, I do not have that piece of hardware.
I did install one of 6.8, 6.9, 7.0 or 7.1 on Lime2 with fresh u-boot back then
and I was able to boot well. Which OpenBSD are you using on Lime2? Maybe I can
use the older one for now.

respect to connecting to pins of RPI3 and getting info on raspbian if such
a thing is possible.
In mailing list archives, it's visible that I successfully booted into 6.8 a
while ago. There is some change after that time which breaks it.
