This is a freshly installed current/arm64 on a MAcBook Air,
model 2337 (M1, 2020); full dmesg below.
After doing the Avahi Linux dance, it booted into the installer.
Choosing [whole] disk in fact preserves the existing macOS paritions,
which makes the disk partitioning steptoe nicely around the ma
