Hello,
I'm using etch and I have installed alsa-base, alsa-oss and alsa-utils. These device files are created at boot:
/dev/dsp0 --> PCI card
/dev/dsp1 --> Onboard card
/dev/dsp2 --> TV tuner
I'm using tvtime (which is oss application). I usually use the PCI card but sometimes want to use the

there seems to be a problem with the module bt87x in alsa 1.0.11rc4

Currently the application has to choose.
So, if there is no surround61 option in the application, then the answer

Some applications have surround71 options, which might be suitable.

Hi:
I am using the device hw:1,1, which is the C-Media sound card, as well as
using ALSA 1.2.10. Of course, I tried simple -- sound was working "fine" on
hw:0,1 (Intel integrated soundcard) without the .asoundrc file, then stopped
working (no debug messages, no errors, nothing). I then tried to

Hi again,
well it seems this problem was either Fedora specific or has been
resolved in some later versions of alsa or what else cause these
troubles.
Ive just tried a 200mb live linux cd powered by linux 2.6.16 and
everything works as expected, how nice sound can be!!
thanks a lot, lg Clemens

OK; just tried with 1.0.11rc4 and still no luck.

Hi,
I'm hoping someone can help me configure my USB phone on Fedora Core 5
so I can use it with Skype.
I'm running FC5 on a Toshiba laptop with an internal Intel sound card.
This is working fine.
I've plugged in the phone and booted and see the following in
/proc/asound/cards:
