I have a system with an onboard audio codec from Sigmatel STAC9758. The
mainboard's manufacturer is Fujitsu-Siemens Computers. The cipset is VIA's
K8T800 with an AMD Athlon64 processor. Recently I installed SuSE 9.0 AMD
64-Bit version and tried to get the sound working. SuSE recognizes a VIA82

Hi, I'm trying to get the onboard sound working on my Biostar M7VIG
motherboard. I'm using linux 2.6.4, plus the bk-alsa patch from Andrew
Morton's tree, so alsa is version 1.0.3.
The driver loads and detects fine, but when I attempt to play a sound, I
see zero interrupts in /proc/interrupts, and
I can't play simultaneous sounds with xmms (mplayer, or another program)
and games emulated with wineX (like counter strike, GTA Vice City).
Has someone use simultaneous sound: playing mp3 files and playing
Counter Strike or another emulated game at same time with this card?

Here's the situation. I am currently running KnoppMyth (a Knoppix based distro of Mythtv). I have the system running fine with one bttv card (an ATI TV Wonder VE) and the onboard sound (Sis chipset). I decided I wanted another tv tuner so I bought another bttv card (AITech Wave). Because both
I'm running Debian, and I recently upgraded this machine to the 2.6.3 kernel and KDE
3.2. ALSA was working fine before the upgrade. Now it doesn't work at all; cat
/proc/asound/cards produces "--- no soundcards ---". If I log in to a character-mode
console (e.g. Ctrl-Alt-F2) I can play mp3s succ
