My first suggestion is to take over this discussion to the linux-audio-user list at http://www.linuxdj.com/audio/lad/subscribelau.php3 as alsa-user is more a list for discussing problems with the ALSA card drivers, not so much with applications. Then I don't understand, if you want a sampler to *play* like an instrument or if you want to arrange samples like a sound engineer?
