I'm using an M-Audio Audiophile 2496 card. I have the volume in envy24control set to 127 ("consumer") level, which appears to be as high as it goes. Compared to other sources on my preamp (eg, my musical fidelity X-24K DAC or a Micromega Stage 3 CD player) the output of the card sounds very quiet.
