I have a problem with the cmipci driver. When I want to play something I get
only SPDIF output. Only when there is another samplerate than 4.1 Khz I get
analog output.
What's the problem?

I have recompiled kernel 2.4.0 with sound support as a module only on my SuSE 7.1 and
now I´m not able to install ALS4000 sound card using ALSA..it doesnt recognize it.If I
use the standard kernel distributed with suse - 2.4.0(4GB), it works fine and also
module snd-card-als4000.o is locate

i solved it doing so:
reinstalled the distro
first compiling *without* changes, with .config equal to arch/i386/defconfig
do my changes...
cos i read in Documentation/kbuild/commands.txt that make dep must be
used evrytime with modversioning enabled, but

Hello. I tried to compile 2.5.5-pre1. I have two cards,
one is a via686 and the other is a cs4281. I found the
configuration selection for via686 but didn't find the
one for the cs4281 although there's a module for the
soundcard. There're a few glitches in the compilation
and configuration that I
