Yeah, xruns - that's the one. If your system isn't configured for
low-latency work [1], you usually get a lot of them until you set big
buffer. Can you test with bigger buffers?
I believe (and I would like to confirm that it's not just me) that
card works perfectly on 48000 and not so great on 441
Not an answer to your question, just question to you: do experience
latency issues when running jackd on this card on 44100?

my card (E-mu 1820) but installed Linux (Ubuntu 8.04) again this summer only
to notice that there was now support!
I think I've just about got my head around controlling Jack, alsamixer and
Ardour (at least the basics)
