Does "/etc/init.de/alsasound stop" stop ALSA and
"/etc/init.d/alsasound

Do you mean, that alsamixer (!) has unmuted channels after rebot, but
aumix does not? This is very strange in my eyes.

There's more than one way to do it, but on my redhat system i have this in
/etc/rc.d/rc.local:
/bin/aumix-minimal -f /etc/.aumixrc -L
put that in your rc.local. after you set the mixer settings the way you
like, execute this command, which saves the settings:
/bin/aumix-minimal -f /etc/.aumixrc
Every time I reboot the pc. I have to go into aumix and unmute everything.
Within AlsaMix everything is fine.
Is there a way for me to prevent this from happening?
