configuration is the default one (without dmix).

appears that Tascam is now releasing a US-122L and a US-144, which I
believe have different chipsets (and at least the US-122L did not work with
Linux as of a couple months ago).

eve this device only supports it's "hardware
mixer" (ie: the physical knobs on the device), and not any software mixer
support. From one point of view, this makes things more straight forward.

us-122 is powered on. It very likely
happens from windows also, just behind the scenes automatilly. From my
experiences, using the us-122 mostly with linux and occasinoally from a
windows box, you should be fine.
