It had been set to false. But in the past that had never stopped the
modules from being loaded.

Hello All,
Not sure whether to take this to this list or a hotplug list. I'm
subscribed to this one so...
I just switched to udev from devfs on a powerbook. Kernel is 2.6.4 and
udev is version 022. The snd-mixer-oss and snd-seq-oss are not being
loaded at boot nor are /dev/sound/* and li
Hi Simon,
I have a powerbook g4. This might be a simple solution. If something
else like esd is using the device I've seen aplay behave the way you
describe. You might try:
lsof /dev/dsp
lsof /dev/snd/pcmC0D0p
or something like that to see if the port is being used.
Go
w or where I can use them.
Thanks,

The 'PCM Capture Volume' which I think is supposed to be the
digital-gain or the mic-preamp seems to have no effect. Is this

Hi Robert,
In my case I solved it with this:
alias snd-card-0 snd-powermac
alias snd-card-1 snd-vxpocket
options snd-powermac index=0
options snd-vxpocket index=1

Hello All,
I have a powerbook using the powermac snapper module with alsa 0.9.4.
To my knowledge there is no support for either the internal mic or
recording.
It seems that the snapper has been around for awhile. Will the
recorcding functions ever be supported? I'm curious, is
