I'd try my best in setup alsa in my laptop (HP Pavilion tx 1000),
however snd-hda-intel simply doesn't work, no matter I put options

I think you need to decode it with ksymoops. BTW, it works

the kernel i8x0 module then the sound clearly runs more smoothly, but
still not perfect.
