Problem so far: I am trying to enable 5.1 out on the blue/pink jacks on
a KT600 mobo
with 8235 south bridge and Realtek ALC655.
I have downloaded the datasheet
(ftp://210.51.181.211/pc/ac97/alc655/alc655_data7.zip)
and there are the following instructions:
Mixer register 6A == Multi Channel Con
More precise information on my motherboard
It is a Gigabyte 7VT600 (VIA KT600) mobo with 8235/8237
South bridge. The codec is described as
On-Board Sound - Realtek ALC655 CODEC
- Line Out / 2 front speaker
- Line In / 2 rear speaker(by s/w switch)
- Mic In / center& subwoofer(by s/w switch)
- SPD
Thanks for the follow-up - I believe that the AC'97 codec
is the Realtek Avance'97.
