More precise information on my motherboard It is a Gigabyte 7VT600 (VIA KT600) mobo with 8235/8237 South bridge. The codec is described as On-Board Sound - Realtek ALC655 CODEC - Line Out / 2 front speaker - Line In / 2 rear speaker(by s/w switch) - Mic In / center& subwoofer(by s/w switch) - SPD
