Unfortunately, probes into ISA address space are always inherently
risky. It's a crawling horror which isn't really the fault of the ALSA
developers... (If you cat /proc/ioports you might find that something
else is using that address space, which would d

changed at some point, so creating a new config file should sort it.

sbiload. That should get you working.

u need to run (as root) the
"snddevices" script from the alsa-driver package to create the ALSA
device nodes in /dev.

/etc/asound.state (under 0.9) or /etc/asound.conf (for 0.5)
"alsactl restore" will reload the mixer settings.
Just put them in the appropriate rc scripts and you'll be all set.

If you don't seem to get sound from the front speakers, try toggling the
mute value on the "DAC/ADC loopback" switch - it worked for me. I can
mail you my /etc/asound.state for my emu10k1 if it will help.
