i work with debian_etch (testing) on a asus am2 machine. compiled and
installed the newest alsa-drivers directly into the kernel; 2-6-17-2-k7
(debian). but i cannot get the hda-intel (nvidia) soundchip properly

I have Ubuntu Edgy installed on a Fujitsu S6240 and sound no longer works -- it worked fine on Breezy and I got it to work on Dapper. I've tried compiling and installing the most recent alsa-driver/libs/utils to no avail. I'm not sure what else I can do. Some of my system info is:
