Fedora Core 2 test 1 to it. I have a custom 2.6.3 kernel with the correct

I had been using a mb with the via82c686 sound and it worked fine. I
recently installed a new mb going from a 650Mhz cpu to 2.0HGhz with a
via8235 sound chip. I started xmms and no sound. xmms equalizer showed
activity . I check showed all modules loaded. A check of alsamixer
showed master mut

having sound quality issues. No hardware was changed, wires, setups as far as
how the hardware is set up, just ALSA vs the "default" installed sound from
Knoppix.

make the ALSA modules from the 0.9.0 beta 12

I'm still having problems with the maudio dio 2496. Has anyone been
successful getting this card to work using native ALSA with the S/PDIF Optical
outputs? I've tried many different things, but am unable to do this
successfully. I'm trying to output to a stereo amp and do various things

Every channel (all 20 or so different channels) is at 100% maximum volume.

Stupid question, but did you check all ports for silence with your headphones?

I loaded alsa-driver-1.0.3 modules for emu10k1 synth emux etc in Linux 2.6.3,
and used alsamixer to unmute every digital and analog channel and to
set the volume of every digital and analog channel to be maximum (100).
I also adjusted the physical volume control on the front panel of the Audigy 2
