does anybody got the Optical Out on a VIA 8235 to work?
All other outputs are working (Front Left/RightRear...), but I
intend to only use optical out.
So, if anybody got it working, please tell me how.

I use the same 2 devices..
The system quite happily puts the intel8x0 chip as the first audio
device.
