-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 I've got my creative extigy working with alsa-0.9.4 and am able to play audio through it. One of the problems that the extigy has it that it will only play at 48k for two channel audio so I'm having to do rate conversions in all my software, and according to the maintainer of the oss driver for it, it will play at 44.1k only for 3, 5 or 6 channels. Can I use the snd-usb-audio driver in alsa to play at 44.1k and give it a blank third channel? I tried to play a 3 channel waveform at 44.1k with three distinct waveforms, it was still forced to 48k and the audio came out scratchy, slowed down a little and the three channels were mixed together in the front speakers and the center channel was undecipherable. Is the extigy just not standard or is there any way to get this to work?
My same problem was able to create a proper two channel waveform that worked ok from two difference sources. Also, the extigy has two additional pcm playback devices, one which supports only u8 single channel audio at 44.1k or 48k and the other s16_le dual channel at 48k. What would these be for? S/PDIF or optical? - -- I sense much NT in you. NT leads to Bluescreen. Bluescreen leads to downtime. Downtime leads to suffering. NT is the path to the darkside. Powerful Unix is.
