Hi group,
I have installed alsa 0.9 (have intel8x0) and it works fine for playing
mp3s and wavs. However when I try to watch video, the sound is fine for
about 15 seconds and then gets worse and worse until it is choppy,
clicking and reverberating... totally awful. If I quickly pause and play

just to give a brief rundown of the situation with quake3 and teamspeak.

Hi
I have a machine with a single Soundblaster Live, running the darkice
audio streamer.
At startup it runs the following commands:
amixer set 'Capture' 80%
amixer set 'Line' rec
before it starts darkice, but then I only get sound in the left channel.
Then if I go into alsamixer and move captu

What version of Alsa? I had this exact same problem when I installed
2.4.20-7 RH kernel and tried to recompile alsa-0.9.2, but 0.9.3 compiled
fine (and later 0.9.4 also compiled).

I know this is a fairly common problem, and I have scoured the list
archives for a solution. I have found and tried the "touch
include/linux/workqueue.h" after configure but before make;make install.
I found a post regarding adding a few parameters to ./configure to point
to the kernel source and o

Different routing, different ISP.

Don't wanna inundate the list, but yes, I was having problems earlier
this week, too. Looked like a symptom of a DoS attack to me, tho I
suppose there could be other explanations.

Yes! I have been having problems with the ALSA site for most of this week.
Also, the problems seem to be somewhat localized, as a friend of mine (5
miles away) has been able to get in when I have not. (Thus it doesn't
surprise me that some see problems where other don't.) I have no
explanation
I just compiled 0.9.4 on Mandrake 9.1 with the Multimedia patched
kernel. I installed the drivers, alsalib, utils & envy24control packages
from source.
All goes well until I try to start ALSA.

Not from over here. I did have problems earlier this week. But I haven't
thought about it until now and now it seems to work again. And the
mailing list archives are also back again (although they are a few
months behind since they had to restore from backup for whatever
reason)

Is anything wrong with alsa-project.org? For the best part of a week
now I have been unable to get any response from it. The domain
www.alsa-project.org resolves to 160.217.1.49, but ping reports "100%
packet loss" and my browser (links) complains "No route to host". Is
anyone else getting this
