I have a machine with a single Soundblaster Live, running the darkice audio streamer.
At startup it runs the following commands:
amixer set 'Capture' 80% amixer set 'Line' rec
before it starts darkice, but then I only get sound in the left channel.
Then if I go into alsamixer and move capture to "Mix" and then back to "Line" I get sound in both channels, but as far as I can see there is no visual change in alsamixer after this operation. Changing the commands run at startup to:
amixer set 'Capture' 80% amixer set 'Line' rec amixer set 'Mix' rec amixer set 'Line' rec
doesn't fix the problem. The only solution I've found so far is to manully fix it with alsamixer at every startup, which I find a little annoying, and I don't understand why there is a difference.
I have tried with other Live cards, with no luck, and testet that darkice isn't in some weird way at fault (same problem/solution with arecord).
Anyone who can help me with a link to a faq I should have read, or tell me what I'm doing wrong/how I can get this to work automatically?
I'm using version 0.9.3.
