Hello,
I installed envy24control on SuSE Linux 8.1 for my Midiman Delta 410 sound
card. The card was installed successfully by alsaconf and it played music. In
envy24control, I clicked "S/PDIF In" under "Master Clock" in "Hardware
Settings". The sound output stoppped immediately and in the "Act

Hi,
For hardware synth on SB Live you must load soundfond to it.
Use command:
sfxload soundfile.sf2
where soundfile.sf2 is name for soundfond (for example ct2mgm.sf2 -
this is in windows drivers).
In RedHat 9 it is in package awesfx-0.4.3a-14.i386.rpm on cd 2.

I once had a system working quite nicely with an
ALS120-based soundcard and ALSA, so I figured I'd be okay
with a motherboard I bought which had an integrated ALS650
chipset. However, I find that this series of chips is now
owned by RealTek instead of Avance Logic, and they have an

I have never successfully been able to get the hardware midi synth on my
SBLive! working under Linux at all.
Just a little background

Anyone Knows how to actually fix this problem :
event sounds don't work which is especially annoying since i'm using GNOME.
I have them enabled in the control center. Also, i could not hear sound if
i type : "play xxx.wav" or use the XMMS player. I know sound is working
because if i switch to K
Hi,
I freshly updated a messy mandrake 9.0 to 9.1. Now I have Linux version 2.4.21-0.13mdk (gcc version 3.2.2 (Mandrake Linux 9.1 3.2.2-3mdk))
After installing the driven according to the manual posted on the Alsa-Project website, I finally encountered a problem while attempting to load the modul
Hi all,
I'm trying to install (again) the alsa driver in my freshly installed mandrake linux
9.1 (incl. kernel source)
After unpacking and successfully installing alsa driver, lib and utils 9.4 files, I
receive an error (same when I was trying to install the previous versions):

Can anyone tell me how to do this?
Thanks

Hi,
Is there a changelog available for new releases?? I've searched through
the whole site but wasn't able to find any. And the news list gives very
few info. In fact, release 0.9.3c wasn't even listed. And now 0.9.4 is out
but no info at all.
I am hoping for support for my Terratec Aureon Space 7

Using KDE 3, I always found that I had to run /usr/sbin/alsactl restore
to get the sound to work after booting.
However, I added a start-up sound for KDE, and now I find that the sound
works without me having to manually restore it.
Is there something missing in my installation?
