hi,
i'm not sure, but is sfxload an oss-based program? assuming it is, then you might
want to check the sound portion of your /etc/modules.conf file. i seem to recall
something about putting the proper aliases in that file for oss sequencer support
(and oss mixer, etc.). i'm not sure if this i

Hello
I have now successfully installed the alsa-module for SbLive, and I am
getting sound when i use the analog outputs, but i cannot get any sound out
of the digital out from the backside of the Soundblaster live 5.1 platinum
board. I am using a connector to get a digital din from the minijack
I need some help configuring alsa on my Dell Latitude CPiR 400 laptop
with a Neomagic 256ZX soundcard. If any one has had success with this,
could you please provide the correct settings for my modules. conf file.
Thanks for your time.

Try to run "alsactl store". This will normaly create asound.conf if It is not
created yet. I didn't have this file when I build ALSA so the fact that you
have no asound.conf doesn't matter.
Stupid questions : did you run "snddevices" after installing ? Did you build
correctly the ALSA drivers w

Hi,
I just discovered that I don't have any kind of
asound.conf. Probably it's the cause why sfxload
doesn't work.
Question 1)
Is it normal that I don't have this file?
Question 2)
The fact that it doesn't work properly in detail

because there is no documentation available. So i dig i and found the

It is a AC97 compatible ALC 100p chip, documentation is found here:

Sujita, I have a board with 686b bridge. I found that the via8233 Alsa
driver worked on this board.
Good luck.

Hi everybody,
I still have some problems with my sblive and RH7.1.
I installed the latest ALSA but sfxload returns a
strange error like
no /dev/sequencer.
Unfortunately /dev/sequencer exists and it seems to be
configured correctly.
Probably is just a problem with the /etc/models.conf
