In general I completely agree on the VPN service with set of APIs. That's the
main motivation, we proposed a "Network Extensions Proposal aka Hybrid Cloud
Service for Network resources" in the last Boston Essex summit. The proposal
initially is to "solve" the VPN based on IPsec as a first itera

Hi Dan:
Took a quick look.
Thanks a lot for pulling this together. Looks good for the first cut.
Few comments/suggestions for now.
1.having a "dir structure" of the Quantum and short explanation
would be helpful
2. Under the section 3.4, could you add line suggesting
Yes, Salvatore. I think we are on the same page. As your rightly pointed out
eases the adoption and also from network API/model perspective for nova and

Hello Dan,Rick, Salv and et al.,:
In this week's Netstack IRC meeting, I'd an Action item for resolving
the merge requests to bug association and its importance for the next
Diablo release.
For more context information, please refer the IRC "cut and paste" at

Hi Arvind:
Are you also planning to show, in network speak, Administratively
UP/Down, Operationaly UP/Down.
We don't have to complicate this..but useful while debugging.

Also I'm wondering about what we can do for "testing" all the dependencies for

I like the model 2 as well.
I'm not an API expert, but for any "Cloud API" following asynchronous
model is a basic design tenet and IMHO must be supported.
On the persistence or DB side, on 802.1qbh plugin, we saw the need for a
persistence store. We are adding that function with ORM/mysql. Rohi
Glad to see we are converging.
Couple of things/questions that we need to discuss/decide in our meeting
today.
1. For plugin-specific extensions - Option 1: Use DataExtension
scheme as in Jorge proposal with Key-Value pairs.
Any other options? Or just go with. BTW, I agree with this

as soon as possible and move on to start developing Quantum side
extensions.

Hi Dan:
As far as I remember, In Design summit, we've agreed to expose "extra"
attributes for Virtual networks and any other vendor specific features
using "API-Extensions" and possibly thru existing Openstack extension
mechanisms. Don't recall that we've concluded on Jorge's proposal.
