I have some 144 fiber that is sitting on a wooden spool that is rotting away.
Apparently this spool is in real bad shape. I'm waiting on some pictures to
see how bad. Guys are telling me we are going to have to abandon all the
fiber. I hoping to try to re-spool it to another spool.
Any tips
I'm finding hard to pass up just getting a 100ah 48v LiFePO4 rackmount battery.
I have a new fiber system that will need a maximum of 3kw once it is maxed out
over the years. This seems like an easy and clean battery solution.
Question is how do I power the system from the AC side on a daily b
We may have the opportunity to grab 2 strands of dark fiber. These will allow
us to build a loop between two points on our network. We have been told we can
also break into this fiber within our loop. I'm guessing when we break into
this fiber they will just extend the dark fiber into our han
Jason,
Yes been using it for a while now. I off loads some traffic. I installed at
end of last football season, so only had one Thursday night game left. Waiting
to see what it does this year. Other than football it does do some caching on
a regular basis.

We have always used PPPoE in the past. Just happen to be what our first system
23 years ago was based on and we just stuck with it. We are setting up a new
area with all new equipment. Looking at setting it up as DHCP. Looks like I
can do some DHCP radius stuff and our new equipment will inj

I think we are too deep into the process to yank it back. Most states have
already started, contracts have been signed.

I'm looking for a small outdoor cabinet may 19" rack about 10U. Would like
something that could work as a Handhole/Cabinet where I can store fiber loop
under it. Never had to shop for anything like this.

We currently run 3 PPPoE servers using an OSPF concentrator and radius to
manage the IP addresses. With this setup, it doesn't matter which IP lands on
which PPPoE server. OSFP handles it.
We now need to do something similar with DHCP. I've been messing around with
/32's and Option 121, but

We are finally dropping Platypus and moving to sonar. Not in love with it yet.

Mike,
I'm finding Sonar makes many assumptions on how things "should be" done. They
have put me in a little box and I'm trying to program my way out of it.

I think/hope they may disappear in FL. We haven't even opened our application
window, so would not be too hard. If no applications have been applied for,
then there is no harm.

type of scale are you talking about 200 customers per router or 2k customers
