You probably misunderstood the 10km by asking for 1310nm, ask for 1550nm
and you will be able to get your 40km that you want

We had a longish 1G wave drop once, and I had to ask the carrier (centurylink)
about what optics they wanted me to use. 25 miles distance. We did 1310nm LR
40km 1G optic on our side.
