Wife and I have amc a list stubs account. For two years during covid we were
basically the only people seeing the movie. Before Maverick maybe 7 in the
theatre. A list meant for a Netflix type fee we see unlimited movies.

I'm biased because I bought a single screen theater in my hometown right
before lockdowns in March 2020.
I offered half the listing price because of covid coming and the sellers
accepted. We've been open since Godzilla in March 2021 and things have been
doing better.
I can say with certainty that
Not quite everything for me. For live events that have CC, the CC
is about 10-15 seconds behind the actual dialog, so I turn it off
because it becomes distracting.
Sometimes when they have CC, there is silence after the person

We have captions on everything too. It's not just us though.

So where I live the people in the theatres are respectful. NO gum on
floors. No talking during show, no singing or anything like that.

That is the other reason I don't go anymore. All these political

That's one thing.
For us going to the movies stopped being an enjoyable experience
for a number of reasons. The ads/previews are one thing. I'm good
with the cartoons, but those have mostly stopped. I do not miss
the spent chewing gum on the seats, floors, etc
We went to Maverick for our first Covid movie experience. Waiting for
almost 40 minutes of adverts for the movie to actually start was a huge
turn off to returning for another theater experience. Of the 40
minutes of ads, only like 15 was previews...

Just a different feel to watch it on the big screen. And I have a home theater
with a 210 inch screen and stadium seating... still like to go with the masses
sometimes.

With the large screen TV's and low cost popcorn at home... there is no
reason to see any movie unless its 3d or something special like Maverick.
Or you are young and trying to socialise outside the theatre with friends.

It is getting out, doing dinner and a movie. Being with people. An event.
