Was there a solution provided to this? I am also facing a similar issue
where I get the productItemId in lowercase even when it has uppercase
characters in the merchant center.

To be short and precise i make call to the Google Ads Api to get
informations. I get all information i needed but the case-sensitive of the*
segment.product_item_id * information is not respected.
For exemple:
- On the Google ads portal => Shopify_ES_94946554_54456
- Response on Google
