The functionality could be replicated via API but needs significant logic to
be implemented on the client side. One needs to implement whole pull, save
and restore process which exist in AWE.

So, conclusion is :
the way Adwords Editor performs Account backup by creating AEA
format file (there are other formats also taking this for e.g.) that can be
used later to restore the account (if something goes wrong) to a previous
state cannot be replicated through Adw

This is only possible if you write the code required to convert the XML data
you have to API requests. AdWords API has no 'revert' functionality.
