Folks, we're at server TSM 5.1.1.4 exploiting ABC 3.1.0.4 on OVMS nodes.
Since the TSM V4 server days we experienced, at certain instances, many
sessions (up to 20 and more) from a particular node, hanging for extended
periods of time, whilst the sessions stay in RUN status, with no data flow.

Henk, thanks...I located the URL on the Tivoli website taking you to the
same FTP site you use in the note below. It is a one-liner on the web-page
for the TSM server downloads/fixes page. Had been unable to get to the
Tivoli pages for a day or two.
Thanks

Hi,
Can anyone please elaborate on the TSM 5.1 DUAL WRITE capability. I need to
know how the SYNC WRITE to the COPY STGPOOL is going to be handled whilst
populating the PRIMARY STGPOOL during backup/archive processing from the
client across the LAN.
Or, if there is a solid description/explanation
Hi
I have the same error with windows 2003 server running TSM 5.1.6 client.
This problem has also given us problems trying to create the Scheduler Service for TSM.
Is there a problem with TSM client 5.1.6.

Hi, next time you do the checkin specify CAPID=0,0,0 or whatever your capid
is on your L700. We're using ACSLS code 6.0.1 patch level PTF762430 and as
of that time the checkin required this CAP pointer.
I have a question though..did you define the LTO's as ECARTRIDGE or LTO
device types in the dev
Sorry, did not see you're SCSI based and not using ACSLS. Nonetheless we do
experience L700 moments where
cap processing cause problems in ACSLS and tape drive access. Severe
problems at this stage.

Hi Willem
The strange feeling's is this would happen if SAPPROD(on sapprod) requires the same
tape as what SAPPROD (on sapqas)
requires, but if you make all the tapes from readwrite to reado and also if you stop
space reclaim and stop the offsite
copies until your refresh has completed you woul

Hi
Have you had a look at the EXPORT SERVER command.
This could help you and you can keep your data as long as you want to.
The only problem will be your hardware when you want to recover your data in 4 to 10
years
time, because by that time most current hardware will be out of date or depending

Hi ALL

Hi
I do this on a UNIX/AIX server where the DRP server UNIX/AIX is at a higher TSM server

the Production server UNIX/AIX.
All I do is restore the TSM database of the production server to the DRP server and
then
I run an upgrade DB on the DRP server.

If you have defined spacetrigger then the system will do this for you automatically.
If you do not have this then you will have to extend the db manually with the

Hi All
I would like to know if i have a retention period for 180 days for Archives in my
archive copy group.
I then change this retetion period after a 20 day archiving process later to 30 days,
will the data I have archived
for the past 20 days take the new retention period of 30 days.
Pleas
Thks
I now understand how the archive process works.
Always under the impression if you archive a file with a certain set of rules, it will
stick to those rules, not the new rules when you change the retetion period.

Hi
Have you looked at the option of set drmprimstgpool.
These primary storage pools with the above option would be managed by DRM.
You would not have the below problem.
DRM/TSM would manage all of this for you.

Hi
With the option of set drmprimstgpool, you do not have to do any of the below.
It would be just like setting up the DRM for Copystgpools.
DRM manages and dictates which tapes would have to go offsite and which tapes comes
back onsite.
You would not encounter problems like what you are having
primary pools
specified. It does not include any primay storage pool volumes in the
DRMEDIA catagory.
Unless I'm reading it wrong...
