How can I get the output redirected in a script ?
I want to automate several scripts, redirecting the output to files which I
can post-process on OS390 with SAS.
Thanks

Thanks for all the replies to my query.
Unfortunately, all the tips have failed miserably, so I have taken the
script outside of TSM to produce my output file.
(Running as an AIX script executing a dsmadmc command rather than internally
within TSM).
Thanks again

runs before the real thing and did a LOT of testing.
This helped the cutover to run as smoothly as it did.
Hope this helps, and if you need any other info, please let me know.

To recap, my problem was that only root/base directories would be

By the way, does anyone have a suggestion as to how to dynamically collate
the errors in the dsmsched.log to say TIVOLI TEC for example, and is the
overhead acceptable on approx 200 Novell servers ?
Or is there a good product available to do this task ?

As far as Domino functions go, ZFS is far superior in performance to HFS;
from the TSM side we see the opposite.
Does anyone else have this experience ?

I have seen some threads on ADSMORG regarding tape libraries and using
manual mode, but do not think this applies here as I am going server to

Can anyone help?

I discovered the cause of this one.
Wrong version of the device configuration file was being picked up (was
from correct TSM Server but 8 months old).
Once this was corrected, restore worked fine.
Morale here is to make sure your test environment matches Production as
much as possible, especially d
but I was wondering if anyone who subscribes
to ADSM.ORG had encountered similar problems and implemented a work around
??

Exchange administrator would have to define to the RSG all the mailstore DBs

Surely this cannot be correct; have I missed something in the process?
